It is vital to plant Bible-believing churches and to strengthen those that remain if we hope to reach the United Kingdom with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the pattern given to us in the Scriptures. God has provided an opportunity to plant this type of a church here in the 'Great Border City', Carlisle. 

We have asked the Lord to establish a strong gospel-preaching church in this city and we believe He is honouring that request. Pray with us that God would give us favour as we seek to glorify and promote His name in Carlisle. Our desire is that the Church would always be a pioneering work as there are always more souls to be reached! ​

Our Beginning

The Edward Street Baptist Church was a church restart beginning in June 2022. It is the eighth of nine church plants throughout England and Wales that form the Crown Christian Heritage Trust. The Crown Christian Heritage Trust was established in 2011 to encourage and train the coming generations in the truths that are an important part of the biblical heritage of Great Britain. Through reaching, training, developing, and revitalisation, the Crown Christian Heritage Trust is ensuring that our great heritage has a future. May many more churches and Sunday Schools be planted and established!
Jonathan Heaton and his family have been in the Carlisle area since May 2022 and are currently ministering at Edward Street Baptist Church.
